Terusc Empire

New Friends & A Desperate Search

After the short battle with the remaining undead at the watchtower the Group decided to split Ceos, Faren and The Whisperer would try to find this apothecary shop in the ruined town of Draelius and Raldim would stay and protect Garavel and Theravin from any more danger. Garavel and Theravin’s wounds had become infected and their only hope of survival was a healing potion.

Into the Wild
Blackgate to The Guard Post

After Escaping the prison The party (Raldim, Ceos, The Whisperer, Theravin the Fox, Garavel and Faren) followed the river down the valley. After several nights of barely surviving by hunting and camping They discovered why the prison guards didn’t bother to follow them, and why no one had tried to reclaim the remains of Ancient Terusc Empire.

The party was set upon by a horde of zombies. Individually these long moldering slow moving members of the undead race didn’t pose much of a threat, but in a large pack they began to take their toll. Garavel was bitten. The party continued to flee down the valley until they found the remains of a road abandoned since the fall of Ancient Terusc. They followed this road to the remains of a guard post. They decided to shelter in this guard post while they tried to save their companion.

The guard post sits on an island in a stream above a waterfall. Upon examining the doors to the two buildings that made up the quard post, The whisper discovered magical runes burned into the sealed up door.

“Danger this Structure under Quarantine by the Archmagus of Ybor City. Enter at your own Risk.”

Out of options and tired of sleeping on the ground surrounded by the undead the party decided to try their chances with the buildings. Raldim smashed open the door. Several zombies ran out and attacked the party. After a short battle the group dispatched the undead and moved on to the second building. Raldim smashed the second door. This time they were not so lucky. Theravin the Fox was bitten by one of the putrid walking corpses.

After searching the buildings the group discovered receipt for potions and medicine from an Apothecary in the nearby mining town of Draelius.

The Escape

The party started the adventure as prisoners in the notorious prison camp of Blackgate. This Mithril Mine is located on the Ancient Terusc side of the Sirithes. Repeat offenders are sent here to work their lives away mining mithril for The Terusc Empire.

New arrivals Ceos, his mentor Theravin the Fox, and Anvreal the bastard who betrayed them have been sent to Blackgate after their Thieves Guild, The Golden Oak was broken up by the Guards in Crossroads. Ceos and Theravin quickly start plotting an escape with their cell mates Raldim, Faren, Garavel, and The Whisperer.

The Whisperer was summoned by the Warden Brolen to investigate a door with Magical Runes on it while he could read the ancient writing it mention it was sealed by the order of the Archmagus of Ybor City, and that all are forbidden to enter. The whisperer uses this situation to his advantage to steal a Spellbook from the Warden’s Library. Meanwhile the others are working on smuggling enough mithril back to their bunkhouse to craft improvised weapons.

At nightfall they set their bunk houses on fire and sneak over the inner wall. The party makes for the northwest tower, dispatches the guard and climbs down the outer wall to freedom. They run as far and fast as they can the first night and setup a small camp. They have little food, but Faren managed to commandeer a Crossbow from the tower guard. Strangely enough Jhoma, The Whisperer’s Kite did not see any sign of pursuit.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
